Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa yoga is an energizing class focused on connecting breath to movement to harmonize the body and the mind. Each class is uniquely sequenced to reach a peak pose (such as a standing balance pose or backbend), to focus on opening or strengthening a specific part of the body (such as hips or shoulders), or to focus on a theme (such as gratitude or an aspect of yoga philosophy). My vinyasa classes are fun, challenging, and accessible to all skill levels. The class begins with meditation, connecting to self and an intention for class, followed by moving through a Sun A sequence and a Sun B sequence that will prepare you to try on a peak pose. The unity of breathing and moving together as one through these sequences is both invigorating and transformative. The peak pose will be an opportunity to be open minded, to play, to explore your edges and to feel empowered. Body cues for appropriate alignment and several variations and modifications will be offered for each pose so that you will feel safe and can honor what feels best for your body in the moment. The class will then ground and nourish your body with intentional movement on your mat to calm the nervous system and to find balance in your body. You will end in savasana, soaking up all of the juiciness of your practice, and feeling rejuvenated and peaceful.

Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a calm, slow, restorative practice that gives the body time to soften and release without pushing, pulling, or forcing. Most postures are experienced seated or lying down on the floor and are typically held for 3-6 minutes. Holding poses for this long helps to hydrate your fascia, increase your flexibility, improve your blood circulation, reduce stress and anxiety, promote self love and compassion, release stored memories and emotions, and facilitate deep relaxation. Yin yoga challenges you to become fully present in your mind and body through stillness. In stillness, you are able to tune-in to your body’s infinite wisdom, detach from your thoughts, and completely surrender control. This practice can be incredibly healing, allowing you to find clarity, peace, perspective, and acceptance within yourself, and to let go of what is no longer serving you. By Savasana you will feel refreshed, rejuvenated and renewed.
